Outdoor Excursions
As a community on the eastern coast of
Florida, Jensen Beach offers plenty of ways
to play. With miles of coastline, you’ll
enjoy spending time in the great outdoors of
a beachfront community with welcoming
year-round weather. Sailing, water skiing,
exploring and boating are some of the
leisure time activities. Marina’s dot the
area’s coastlines providing boaters with
supplies, dockage and fuel.
Indian Riverside Park resides along
the western shore of the Indian River. This
54-acre park invites visitors with picnic
sites, fishing access and water play area.
Watch the sunrise at the Pier. As well,
concerts and special events are held in the
park regularly. The Island Princess takes
you on a sightseeing cruise along the St.
Lucie and Indian River. Bathtub Reef Beach
is a natural reef formation. The reef
creates an off shore lagoon where you can
swim and see a variety of fish in crystal
clear waters. The tide leaves behind shallow
pools making this beach an ideal spot for
children to play.
Surfing, windsurfing, boat dock, swimming,
snorkeling and shelling are also fun
pastimes at this park. Savannas Preserve
State Park offers a unique environment to
explore with its savanna-like wetlands,
marshes and pine flatwoods while Jonathan
Dickinson State Park has canoe rental
and camping grounds. Color and natural
brilliance engulf you at the Heathcote
Botanical Gardens. Plants from around the
world are maintained here from the Japanese
Garden with its towering bamboos to the
Mediterranean Herb Garden of fragrant herbs
and aromatic trees.
Golf courses as well reside in and around
Jensen Beach and are always a fun way to
enjoy the weather. Eagle Marsh Golf Club
mixes class championship golf with natural
beauty and wildlife as it winds through six
miles of the Savannah Wildlife Reserve.
The US Sailing Center of Martin
County, (USSCMC) is a community sailing
center offering recreational, competitive
and learn-to-sail opportunities for youth
and adults of all ages. Membership, lessons
and rentals are available. USSCMC is one of
only three Community Sailing Centers in the
United States sanctioned by the US Sailing
Association. |
